Food Recommendations and Supplements
We do NOT recommend feeding any Grain-free diets. We do recommend our puppies be on a "puppy" or "All Life-stage" diet until 10 months of age. After 10 months you may use an All-life stage or Adult formula.
For older dogs, over 7, we recommend using a lower-fat diet for gallbladder health!
Our current litters of puppies (2026) are being fed Fromm Classic Puppy Kibble, with Honest Kitchen dehydrated powder and goats milk on top with some hot water. We also add on probiotics (Natures Farmacy, Proviable, or Probios). Please plan to get the kibble, topper and one of the probiotics (linked below) before you pick up your puppy.

Crates, Pens, Toys and more
We litter train our puppies with artificial turf and pine litter.
We recommend our puppies always ride inside a crate while in the car, even as an adult. Usually a 30" equivalent size works for most shelties. We also recommend keeping an open crate inside your home as a safe den area. When picking up your puppy we recommend bringing a towel and some paper towels incase they get carsick on the ride home. It is common for puppies to be carsick during their first few trips. Most grow out of it quickly!
Before bringing your puppy home, please set up a small pen for your puppy with a water bowl, crate with bedding, toys and a litter box/turf area.
We clean our turf multiple times a day as needed with Dawn Powerwash and Simple Green outdoor odor eliminator. If you plan to use the pine litter and a box you can get a kitty litter scoop so clean up the solid waste and scoop the old litter out when cleaning the box. We DO NOT recommend disposable pee pads for puppies, they will get shredded and pose a choking hazard.
If you have slippery floors, please use washable pee pads inside your puppy pen for traction for your puppy as they grow. You can use washable throw rugs or washable runner rugs (can be found on amazon) for other areas in your home where your puppy may slip while running around. Common places to use washable rugs are at the bottom of stairs, and any other area where your puppy frequently runs around.
We do not recommend any large bones for chewing, as they are to hard and can lead to broken teeth. Bully strips, no-hide alternative chews, duck or chicken feet and other tendon chews are fine. Please watch your puppy and dog while they have any chew especially as it gets smaller because some puppies and adult shelties willl try to swallow them whole when they are still a bit too big. Remove the chew when it is small enough to be swallowed if it seems like they are trying to eat it without chewing on it.

GPS Collars and Martingale Collars
